Are IPOs back?

IPOs are back!

With the recent listings of companies like chip manufacturer ARM and delivery app Instacart, we are seeing the resurgence of the public markets after around two years of being dormant.

This brings back a favourite exit opportunity for venture investors, public listings are in a way the holy grail of investment outcomes. But is it too early for the market to get its hopes up?

Today we’re speaking to GCV’s very own special features editor, Rob Lavine, about the recent slate of IPOs and what it means for investors, what changes there have been in the market to give companies more confidence to list, and how long we’ll have to wait to see if the public markets become a viable option for exits again.

We also briefly touch on another returning element, the mega-round, and what that means for investors.
